Find an atmosphere
If you do not have any idea to begin with, tear or copy favorite photos from interior magazines, decorative books, sales catalogues... They will all inspire you with their ideas. Make a trends' notebook to stick your favorite atmospheres. You will find a palette of your favorite colors, designs.
Get also some inspiration from animals, favourite heroes of your child to make him a personalized room and not a museum! Bring a playful look to the space.
A design for each age
After making a decoration suitable for the youngest age (see "sweet dreams"), your little one makes his/her first steps, plays his/her first games and draws. The bedroom must fit with the daily needs of the kids. Here are some ideas for an interior :
Prefer furniture on wheels and sized just right for kids : such as small plastic toys box. At low cost and light, they can push them easily in the house. They must be at their level: they will be able to begin to organize their stuff by themselves.

Especially do not choose too big furniture: the bedroom must remains a playroom.
To support your building artist, put a chalkboard sticker at their level on the wall. Small buckets are also perfect for keeping art supplies and small toys organized.
A bedroom which grows with your child.
When they begin to have some ideas on what they want, design a bedroom with enduring style that can grow with your child. When they enter school, encourage their love of learning with an organized study and craft area. And it's better if the place can grow with your children, adapt itself as they progress through school.
Next to the study area, they like to have a space to read, talk with their friend. Just add some cushions on the floor or on their bed and it will be used as a sitting area.
For the storage it's time to buy a bookcase deep enough to store baskets of toys and first books.
Let them choose and put their own accessories. They like to add their personnal touch and taste. Hang up his/her first draws, their favorite family photos or small cards put in tryptique (like the Marouschkas or the serie of "Nouille la grenouille" from Fifi Mandirac). Mix the shapes, colors and sizes of the frames.
For teenagers? Get some inspiration from adults'interior!
Your child is a teenager now and wants to change his/her universe. The interior decor of the room can follow easily.
